How much will a custom project cost?
Every project takes a different level of skill and time investment. I set my prices based on a formula that takes into consideration the cost of the materials, time invested, and complexity of a project. The same formula that is used to price my normal listings is used to price custom listings.
How soon can you make it?
Knitting is my passion and custom projects always take precedence over any other project I have on the needles. That said, I do work full time and have three small children, so requesting a custom project is a dedication! I will discuss my proposed timeline for your project with you and will include a deadline for every listing.
Typical turnaround times (in the order of request received):
- Hat - 1 week
- Socks - 2 weeks
- Mittens - 2 weeks
- Gloves - 3 weeks (what, there are fingers. Gah)
- Cowl - 3 weeks
- Shawl/Scarf - 4 weeks
- Adult sweater - 8 weeks
- Throw blanket - 12 weeks
- Queen blanket - 6 months (and a lot of alcohol and swearing)
What is the process for a custom order?
First start by sending me an email using the form on this page outlining the type of custom item you are interested in. The more detail the better!
Next, I'll search patterns and appropriate yarn options and send images for you to choose among.
Based on the pattern & yarn selected, I will quote you a price for the finished project and set a deadline for completion. I will write up a purchase agreement and make a custom listing on the site for a 20% deposit.
Purchase of the custom listing will serve as the agreement to the sales contract by both seller and purchaser.
Once the custom item is completed, the remaining balance for the order will be listed for the purchaser to complete the order. Following payment for the balance of the order, the custom item will be shipped within 2 business days. Tracking will be provided upon shipment.
